What to do when you freeze or go blank in a meeting

The question lands, every head turns, and your mind goes white. It happens to strong leaders, and it is not a character flaw. It is a stress response, which means it is a habit, which means it is trainable.

Buy a beat without filler. That is a fair question, let me think for a second is a complete, composed sentence that gives your brain the two seconds it needs. Silence with steady eye contact reads as confidence. Rushing to fill it reads as panic.

Then say one true thing, even a small one. Here is what I know so far, and here is what I need to check restarts the engine. You do not have to answer fully. You have to stop the freeze, and momentum does that.

The freeze fades with reps, not resolutions. You cannot think your way out of it in the moment. You rehearse the moment until the composed response is the one that shows up on its own.
